About the show
Based on Puccini’s La Boheme, rock opera Rent tells the story of one year in the life of friends living in modern day East Village, New York City, 1989-1990.
The story centres around Mark and Roger, two roommates. While a former tragedy has made Roger numb to life, Mark tries to capture it through his attempts to make a film. In the year that follows, the group deals with love, loss, AIDS, and modern day life in one truly powerful story.
With fantastic music, a story that is both heart-wrenching and uplifting, wonderful songs and beautiful characters, this story of what can happen in 525,600 minutes is a must-see musical.
