Ramchand Pakistani

A true story concerning the accidental crossing of the Pakistan-Indian border during a period of extreme, war-like tension between the two countries by two members of a Pakistani Hindu family belonging to the ‘untouchable’ (Dalit) caste, and the extraordinary consequences of this unintended action upon the lives of a woman, a man and their son.
This deeply affecting film is the story of one boy’s coming of age in a hostile environment and how he discovers humanity and hope even in the most difficult of circumstances. It tells of a family torn apart by events beyond their control, overcoming the trauma of separation and sudden disappearance to rebuild their lives in a struggle for survival.
