300 music floats…. 40,000 volunteers….. hundreds of Caribbean food stalls ….and 2 million people! The Notting Hill Carnival is back for another year of celebrating London colour and culture – and west London based company WinkBall wants to show the world the joy of carnival via their video website!
This year WinkBall will speak to and film 20,000 Carnival-goers and upload their views onto the ultimate Carnival video mega wall: www.winkballcarnival.com.
In a unique record of the bank holiday weekend, 100 citizen reporters will flood the Notting Hill Carnival route and speak to the people who make Carnival special – the people on the street.
WinkBall will then create the biggest online archive of Notting Hill Carnival faces, memories and emotions ever seen, with the video wall featuring every aspect of the Carnival experience.
Last year’s site remains active on www.winkballcarnival.com. It features Levi “Dragons Den” Roots, film director Don Letts, CMC Matrix DJs and other artists, masquerade (costume) bands and St John’s Ambulance.
This year, WinkBall intends to double its efforts and add to this vault of Carnival treasure with three times as many trained video reporters capturing the street party magic.
WinkBall’s unique technology means anyone can add their thoughts and experiences and tell the world about their Carnival at the click of a button.
